For close to a decade, Centre Mont- Royal has been carving out a very unique niche in Montreal’s meetings market with its incomparable versatility. Centre Mont-Royal is a proven success story, pioneering a concept which didn’t exist in the Canadian meetings market when the facility first opened its doors. Situated in the heart of downtown Montreal, in an area historically known as the Golden Square Mile, Centre Mont-Royal is ideally located within steps of 3,000 hotel rooms. The multi-functional complex features 50,000 sq. ft. of versatile spaces, spread across 17 unique rooms ranging from foyers with floor-to-ceiling windows, to ballrooms, boardrooms and a performance hall. CMR also features an outdoor terrace for special events, overlooking Mansfield Street and offering an ideal setting for cocktail receptions for up to 100 guests.

Newly named the Symposia Theatre, CMR’s 730-seat performance hall has forged a reputation of its own in Montreal’s vibrant, cosmopolitan scene, reflecting 10 years of service not only as a meetings venue, but also as the elegant backdrop of memorable gala evenings featuring awards ceremonies, movie premieres, concerts and world-class performances. The Symposia Theatre offers fixed-tiered seating in a column-free room featuring a built-in stage, a state-of-the-art audio-visual system, booth-controlled lighting and satellite up/down link capabilities.

State-of-the-art technology permeates all corners of CMR and includes provisions for satellite broadcasts and live webcasts, audience polling and simultaneous translation services. Centre Mont-Royal has also revamped its website with a new visual concept aimed at reinforcing its chameleon-like nature. The new site emphasizes the four quadrants of the CMR logo, representing the centre’s core business strengths in corporate meetings, special events, weddings and theatre performances.

Centre Mont-Royal’s culinary expertise has also earned itself a stand-alone reputation in a city known internationally for its fine cuisine. Under the guidance of executive chef Yves Malenfant, CMR’s catering of everything from coffee breaks to gourmet dinners has been an integral part of the centre’s success story. Chef Malenfant’s reputation has spread through the city, spinning its way into a new culinary concept that transcends the walls of Centre Mont-Royal. Known as Comptoir du Chef, a new trendy gourmet food outlet in downtown Montreal is now serving up Chef Malenfant’s daily inspirations. The overwhelming success of the first Comptoir du Chef, located just outside of the centre, has spawned expansion plans for a second downtown location, as well as planning for a possible third.
